San Francisco Family House

The same family owned this stately home for over 70 years. It was purchased though the winnings of a child in the family who won the National Spelling Bee!

Despite its wonderful design, the structure suffered from years of deferred maintenance, and a general lack of modernization. The house was not suited for its new owners – a family of 5.

Partnering with the owners, Centoni designed and developed a master plan for the interior and exterior renovation that included various seismic upgrades to the structure, full utility replacement (electrical, plumbing, sewer, HVAC, AV), as well as a remodel of 3 bathrooms, a kitchen and a full exterior restoration. Great pains were taken to restore the façade of this home to its original splendor – including custom-built art glass windows. The two-story deck, complete with steel moment frame and stairs, provides seamless access to the outdoor space from the second and third story of the home.

The interior floor plan was modernized to support today open-plan living style, without losing the original design of the home.

“Gina and her team did an amazing job on my 1890's Victorian. The project required an incredible amount of craftsmanship and attention to detail to keep this Victorian looking original. This was the best experience I have hadwith a contractor to date.”
